Colours of Transition

IMG_1062

When I felt the first shift of perimenopause
my favourite colours became Silver and Deep Purple
Silver called to me like the moon
mystical and feminine with the elusive majesty
of light sparkling on snow-covered ground
While Deep Purple spoke to me of my rich sexual life
my intensified drive for life-giving expressions

In the energetic midst of perimenopause
my favourite colour burst forth as Orange
like the flames of hot flashes and emotions
that burned over me and through me
all with a thrust towards happiness

With the full emergence into menopause
my thoughts are consumed with images of Pink rose petals
Soft
Resting in my innate loveliness
My attention effortlessly drawn to beauty
As I yield to the elixir of romance

The Launching

IMG_0903

Traveling a path she has already begun
Deepening the grooves and widening the arcs
Branching out and pulling in
A quickening in the pulses of momentum
Preparing to launch herself to where there is no longer road
Preparing to catch fire and soar

Wildflower

Texas Wildflowers - Indian Blanket in a field of Bluebonnets

embracing her natural state of joy and passionate abandon
a wildflower dancing in the wind
blossoming in uninhibited fields of unconventionality
and scattering seeds in places
where only she dares to know
that life can take hold

Untamed Invitation

img_0712

He calls to you
outside of the rusty gates of your preconceptions
beyond brittle boundaries lodged for generations

He asks you
to meet Him in the vast expanse of your heart
in dreamy star fields of possibilities

He invites you
to come forth into uncharted adventures
laced with dragons and rescuing and unimaginable wonders
speckled with the mundane and the cloaked
but always
ultimately
advancing into the wild
where you can both
breathe freely

Energetic Collision

The past superimposes on the present
bringing with it all the fire and passion that my wild veins can handle
burning up lies that have been told and boundaries that have been imposed
fuelling the firestorm of rebirth

“Who Do You Say That I Am?”

image

Who do you say that I am:
someone who holds you back,
or the encouragement that calls you forth?

Who do you say that I am:
the condemnation in the eyes of some who claim to know me,
or a lover who is dazzled by your entire being?

Who do you say that I am:
a set of formulas that can be confined to rigid boxes,
or a person who breathes freely in areas you are only beginning to imagine?

Do not sidestep the question
because who you say that I am
has a direct correlation
with who you say that you are
and with the options that you are able to perceive
for what you might become.

Stepping Into Wonder

image

The courage to live a life full of Wonder
The courage to see things differently

The courage to live a life full of Wonder
The courage to pause where others rush on

The courage to live a life full of Wonder
The courage to let yourself dream
